Climate change

by Antonio Pasolini on November 19, 2007

The British broadsheet The Independent, the most active mainstream British paper on the issue of global warming and climate change, today published an in-depth article about the document produced at the weekend in Valencia, Spain, during a meeting held by United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Called Policymakers’ Summary of the Synthesis Report, it is available to download from here.

The newspaper says the 23-page document is “so important because it provides one concise, easily-readable but comprehensive text of facts, figures and diagrams – in short all the information you need to understand and act on the threat of global warming, be you a politician, a businessman, an activist or a citizen (or for that matter, a doubter).”

The document comes with stark predictions about the future but infuses them with a dose of optimism, which involves immediate action to mitigate the effects of global warming. On that matter, we add that renewable energy plays a vital role to help curb the damage human activity causes to the planet and other animal species.
