Brazil supports forest protection initiative

Brazil today signed the REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation) Partnership at the Oslo Forest and Climate Conference in Norway. The event was attended by representatives of 52 countries. The objective of the agreement is to scale up REDD Plus actions and financing. Scottish island gets green prize

A small island in Scotland, home to a community of about 100 people, was awarded £300,000 (US$487,000) from the Big Green Challenge by the National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts.
