Product Description The Solar charger i101 series from iceTECH USA, is capable of charging 99% of all mobile phones or USB interface digital products (MP3/MP4 players, etc..) which have operational voltage of 3.5-5 Volts. The Solar battery itself can be charged two ways, either by using direct sunlight (8-10hrs) or by plugging it directly into an electrical outlet (3-4hrs). Once the Solar Battery is charged you may use it to charge other devices such as your cell phone or any MP3/MP4 device. It will charge them at the same time frame as your conventional charger. You can also charge your device "on the go" by plugging it into the battery and leaving the battery under direct sunlight. One hour of charging from direct sunlight provides about 1hour of mp3 playback. When charging a cell phone directly from the sun, 60 minutes of sunlight will provide approximately 25 minutes of talk time and ten hours of standby time. A fully charged SOLAR i101 will completely charge an average cell phone and many of them - even twice. Package Includes: SOLAR i101 charger, universal 12-volt wall adapter; cell phone adapter plugs (Samsung , Motorola , Nokia , mini-USB), universal cable, female standard USB adapter (powers iPod ), convenient carry-on pouch with lanyard and instruction manual. *ATTN: Due to appearance of weak and potentially hazardous copies on the market, make sure to buy from our licensed vendors! Charger and back-up power source for mp3 / mp4 players, KEO media players, Zune, Sansa, i-Pods, etc. Dimensions: 90*40*10 mm; Weight: 100g.

No complaints at all! November 26, 2008 Akiko Matsubara (Tampa, FL) Guys, I was comparing the voltage output and low-light chargingcapability of several devices on the market for my job assignment. Ido not want to put the other devices down, but I thought to leave areview of i101. It was a winner in all of my tests. Polycrystallinepanels are more effective than monocrystals. And the output of thisproduct was always very consistent. We ended up buying quite a few forour support operations. No complaints at all! I definitely recommendit for price and quality.
Seems well made but lacking in the instruction manual November 12, 2008 Carlito I purchased this at the same time I bought the Portable Hybrid Solar Charger for Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia, etc. I wanted a device that would stand up to some abuse and still work - my son is studying in India and seems to be having trouble keeping his Blackberry charged. This unit is much better made than the other one, but has half the solar cell surfaceThe instructions are sparse - barely adequate. When charging on mains the blue led flashes brightly no matter what the charge state, which makes it hard to tell if it's fully charged. It does charge my Blackberry though the USB connector sometimes lost contact if moved. I haven't yet tried charging the phone while the unit is on solar. Overall it's worth the money and I will send it on to India (hope it reaches him!)
What a super little charger!!! September 9, 2008 Serge Kuptsov (Miami, Florida) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It is awesome!! I got this last week and like it a lot. I could charge my Verizon PDA phone and even tried it on the the last year's Samsung and my wife's new Nokia - worked fine! It took about 4 hours to fully charge the built-in Li-Ion battery from the AC. I wanted to start with the Sun, but they recommend you to start with AC for the longer life of battery so i just did it. When the blue light stopped blinking and became steady I went experimenting with anything i could possibly try to charge. So here're the results of my little in-house research... On one charge i101 can normally charge a smaller type of a phone like LG Chocolate or Nokia from 0% to 100%. And it takes about 1-2 hours to do it. After having charged it twice from the AC, I decided to try the real solar charging capabilities and left it under the Sun in my car, on a dashboard. The charging light indicator goes on in a peculiar mode that almost looks like a UV when it is exposed to a direct sunlight. This charger is basically a solar panel attached to the Li-Ion battery - and this design makes it very convenient. You do not have to leave your phone with the charger. You charge the built-in battery and then use it to power the cell-phone whenever and wherever you need it. It works even at night! So after leaving i101 for about 7 hours in the Sun, I powered up my PDA from 10% to 75% in 1 hour. This depleted the solar charger's Li-Ion battery again, but it was impressive that this little piece could charge up my XV6700 so quickly and well. It was already late outside when i was driving home and I know this sounds corny, but the mere fact that solar energy could be stored during the daytime and used later so easily made me feel really good about this small investment :) Thank you guys, great product!
doesn't cut it July 27, 2008 T. Long 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
again, great idea; poorly implemented. charged it up via an AC outlet then tried to test it on my Nokia N95. all my phone did was say, "not charging". then when plugging it back up, the LED failed to light up to show that it was charging, so i think it's broken. i'm going to look into getting a Brunton.
Could not get it to work well June 24, 2008 M. Vanderbilt (CA, USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I tried a number of different devices on this from cell phone to bluetooth headphones to iPod and really couldn't get it to charge much at all. Maybe it was user error, but I just could not get it to work... Oh, well...
