4 out of 5 stars Water is always so relaxing   June 22, 2009

This is a very nice fountain. You have 5 hard clay pots or bowls flowing into each other. I'd figure, if you bought the clay pots, you'd be looking at 40 to 50 dollars alone. The whole set up is really nice. This isn't a huge fountain, but you should not expect it to be one, considering it is based on a bowl design. The big bowl I figure is about 1 1/2 gallons.

Birds love to drink the water, so you will find yourself having to replenish the water every day, sometime more than once. Evaporation and birds drinking the water will cause the water to vanish pretty quickly.

You will need very bright sun to get the water flowing though. The slightest cloud on a sunny day will temporarily shut down the pump. So, if you place this fountain where the shade changes during the day, you won't have a continuous flowing fountain. Of course you can choose to simply plug the pump into an electrical outlet.

You must also clean up the fountain pretty regular. If not the pump would probably burn out with all the algae that form in a span of a couple of days.

Over all, for gardens it is very relaxing to have a fountain. And if your okay with the pump only flowing with the direct sunlight and shutting down with clouds, then you would enjoy this fountain.

Also, this fountain is nice enought to set up inside your house. I contemplated setting up this fountain inside my house, but decided against it since I want to take advantage of the solar energy, therefore I took it outside to my garden.

I love the foundtain, the solar panels don't work that well so you have to plug it in most of the time and can't find replacement bowls, one broke

5 out of 5 stars Exactly as advertised   June 12, 2007

And one of the best packed products I've ever seen. This was a gift for my father, who is housebound, and he delights in watching the water flow, and in seeing the squirrels drink from the fountain - we put some rocks in the bottom bowl and there are even a couple of birds that use it for a bird bath. Definitely requires full sun, though, on the solar panel. Doesn't store the solar energy, like the solar lights.

5 out of 5 stars Well Done   March 14, 2007

The product was shipped promptly. It was well packed with no damage. The fountain was easy to set-up, and allows for multiple mounting options. It has been running several hours every day since we received it and is already attracting birds and frogs to the yard.

4 out of 5 stars Love my fountain   August 10, 2006

I really enjoy my new fountain. It arrived in good shape and was easy to assemble. Although I like the convenience of the solar operation -- I find the solar panel to be very sensitive. If a cloud passes by -- the fountain stops and of course it never runs in the evening.

Overall, I find the pleasure and simplicity to be more of a positive than the solar panel to be a negative. I purchased the fountain for a spot at the far end of my garden (an attempt at feng shui). But I moved it onto my deck so that I can see it more often. It is such a pleasure to look out the window and see it in the morning. We even had a bird taking a bath out there last week!

I guess my strongest recommendation comes in the fact that I have ordered a second fountain to go out in the space I originally planned for this one.
