Product Description The Solar Sensor Light eliminates the need to wastefully burn an outside light while you're away. The solar-charged detection circuit automatically turns on the light to welcome you when triggered by heat or motion at approximately 30 feet, then turns off after you leave the area. This can also make it effective in deterring prowlers. The bright 20-Watt quartz-halogen bulb will last over 2 years and lights instantly at even the coldest temperatures. An adjustable sensitivity control reduces false triggers by your cat, a raccoon, tiny UFO's, etc. The unit mounts easily to wall, fascia, soffit, or roof eaves. No wiring or electrician required. Has a 14-foot cord on solar module for best sun exposure. Extra battery capacity allows up to two weeks of operation without sun. The Solar Sensor Light comes with mounting bracket, hardware and bulb included. Replaceable battery and bulb. 7""H x 7""W. Extends 7""from wall.

Flawed product December 5, 2008 Starman This solar light is a great idea but there is a fundamental flaw with the electronics that causes these devices to fail in 1 year or less. The problem seems to be with the charging circuit, but since no circuit diagram is provided with the product the actual problem has not been diagnosed. I had 4 (bought 2 and had 2 replacements). None of them work today, so I'm moving on to a better product.

Okay, be careful with these. I bought four for the perimeter of my house, and two years later, two of them stopped working (past the warranty, of course!). It's not that the bulbs burned out - in fact, I can hear that the motion seinsors are still working, but something in the light mechanism is kaput, and there's no apparent way to fix these. Great idea, but let's make stuff that holds up, please!
Solar flood light October 14, 2007 Marco Polo (Rhode Island) 27 out of 27 found this review helpful
I was given this light a while ago (over two years). I have had to replace the battery pack, but the light is working fine. There are some tricks to it. You need to adjust the sensitivity to very low and angle the sensor only where you need it. The sensor will pick up most anything that moves by and that will cause the light to turn on and burn up the batteries. I have it mounted right over the side door (the door I use all the time) and it provides plenty of light to get your keys out and open the door. And since it's solar there is no wiring required. My only suggestion would be for them to extend the cord to the solar panel, so you can position it where you need it.
