Great Little Lights October 18, 2008 Swede We have bollard lights in front of our house. It was easy to run wiring and hook-ups there. The back of the house was more difficult. These solar lights were the perfect answer and the style matches what is in front...great! I followed others' recommendations to invest in more powerful batteries and to line the cylinder with aluminum foil. Super ideas. I was astonished that, after one day of sunshine, they lit up and have done so every night since.
Love them! August 28, 2008 C. Smith (Cape Cod) I bought set about a week ago. I have to say, I am impressed. I have many other solar lights in my gardens but these are to light pathway to my door. The light is more than than I had expected, I am buying another set. They are great!
very pleased August 22, 2008 Doodle Girl (Belgium) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought these last year but as we were moving, we only set them up recently. We're very pleased with them and plan to order another set, but they're now selling for twice as much as we bought them so we're waiting. They are very elegant and simple, the construction is solid and they look very pretty in our garden. They're a snap to install. We prefer the white-blue light to the yellow you often find with these lights. We did replace the batteries with others of better quality.
Looks nice, questionable reliability December 24, 2007 Anh Nguyen (Fullerton, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These lights look great; high-quality construction of glass and aluminum. You install 4 rechargeble batteries underneath the powersupplier with solar panel on top. The battery compartment is very touchy. Once the batteries are in place, I had to tap on the battery cover to get it to work. If I disturb the batteries moderately (e.g., a knock), it'll stop working and I have to go through the tapping routine again. I used 4 duracell rechargeables (instead of the ones supplied) because I didn't think those were powerful enough. After about 2 months, the batteries were rusted. There's something wrong in the design: it drains water from the solar panel into the battery compartment. I changed the way the panel is angled, put in 4 new ones, and they seem to be working ok for the last 3 months. I don't want to open it up to see whether these batteries are rusted because I don't want disturb it. Another thing, we live in Southern Calif, the winter sun here is barely enough to light these lights. I'm thinking about wiring them to an electrical source. Maybe not.
