4 out of 5 stars mostly good   August 18, 2008
nice looking, easy to install. seem sturdy. one or two provide weak light compared to the others, even if placed in direct sunlight all day. I need to follow up with customer service.

2 out of 5 stars Just OK when working, all broken w/in few months   August 16, 2008
When I first got them, about 1/3 didn't work, but the company was great in replacing the non working parts. BUT, now, only 10 months later, every single one is broken.
There are plastic threaded parts that hold the lights to the post, then the same kind of plastic part to hold the post to the stake. First the heavier lights and posts broke off the stakes, so I just stuck the poll in the ground without the stake, but then the same plastic piece that holds the light to the stake, started breaking.
The heat and sun have weakened the plastic threaded pieces and now they are all breaking off just under the light. This is not repairable. The lights work and even most of the batteries still work, but what good is that if there is no way to attach the pieces and use the light set.
It's been an annoying problem since I first got this set, with the bottom pieces constantly breaking and needing repair; but now it's not only frustrating, but upsetting.
I wouldn't mind having to spend the $100 once a year for a whole new set, but to go to so much trouble all year long (or 10 months long) then have to replace them; it's just not worth it.

When the lights are working, they are not very bright. My neighbors have much brighter solar lights in front of their homes. I didn't mind that so much because it's not bad, just different. The light lasts most of the night and well into the early morning. They look nice and if you put them where your gardener won't trample over them, they should last a long time.

UPDATE: I notified the company of the problems I was having and without question they replaced every part I was having problems with and send extra parts. I was able to fix or replace every old, not perfect part with brand new, working lights. What great service. Now I have a whole new light set outside.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent buy   August 13, 2008
Was a little leary about buying these since some people said that some of the lights did not work right from the start. I could tell every single one was working as soon as I turned them on by holding my hand over the solar panel. They are wonderful quality. Not plastic, but metal and glass and they throw off pretty good light, if you have them in direct sunlight. The light is white, and not the yellow that most solar lights emit. I have a few that get a bit of shade during the day and are not as bright, but overall they work great. Very happy with this purchase and would definitely buy again.

4 out of 5 stars Beautiful Set of Solar Lights   August 5, 2008
The lights were very easy to put together and set up. I did it all by myself. Just follow the instructions and they will be up and running. I put them on the sides of the driveway. I was surprised the lights starting working that night considering I had set them up in the late afternoon so they didn't get much sunlight time.

I've had them for a few weeks now and there are times when a few won't work but that is when the sun did not shine on that particular one during the daytime. All of the lights come on at different times but they all work after dark. If you find a problem with one not working, take it apart, jiggle around the batteries on the off position then turn it back on and see if that works.

I think the price was awesome! To get 15 of these gorgeous lights for under $100 is the best price you will find out there. My neighbors even commented on how nice they look.

1 out of 5 stars Parts bent out of shape and missing 2 stems   August 3, 2008
I've bought similar solar powered lights from Westinghouse, but this model was a disappoinment. I only got a chance to install the set after my 30-day return window was over expecting that the quality would be the same as my last Westinghouse set which I also bought from Amazon. A lot of the parts where bent probably due to shipping. But besides that, it was missing two of the stems. As far as the light output, I will have to give an update later on since I have to give it 8 to 12 hours (or maybe more) of charging time to make a final judgment. For $99 this was a big a disappointment. The only pros was that it was made of glass instead of cheap plastic so the lights would be more reflective.
