When I started shopping for a pad for the white-washed porch bench at my new home, I wanted something practical and pretty. I was really looking for a yellow-and-white awning-stripe style ... or perhaps yellow flowers.
I thought that would add a cheery note and also complement the beauty of the large camel statue--blue-and-yellow saddle--that my daughter Deb made for me years ago in her ceramics class.
Since the house is painted sand with a trim that's almost the same color as this mocha cushion and Amazon had no pretty yellow ones, I decided to go "neutral" and brighten the look with cheerful, colorful pillows.
When this cushion arrived, I was pleased with my choice; it's comfortable, has a zipper for easy cleaning and is fade-, mold- and weather-resistant. All that and economical too.
The color does, indeed, match the house trim, so to bring it all together and make the porch more aesthetic, I chose two sun-flower pillows, one for each arm of the bench.
Instant beauty!
Now I enjoy sitting on the porch, reading and/or chatting with friends and neighbors. With two large maple trees, several magnolias and a crepe myrtle swaying in the breezes of my immediate view, and my favorite weeping willow in the front yard off to the left ... well, it's a little bit of Heaven on Earth,
To make a long story short, I took a plain, practical, but not-so-pretty cushion, and with a little decorating skill, created a perfect setting for my quiet times. My own private, peaceful, and pretty oasis. Can't beat that!

I recently purchased this piece for our deck. It is great! The wood is wonderful, stained well and it was easy to assemble. It is not water proof. However, for the price this is by far the best piece around.
