This is going to change the way you use your patio in the evenings. The lights are built right into the umbrella spreaders . . . all six of them . . . as well as another light at the very top of the underside of the umbrella. The solar panel on top of the umbrella will collect the suns rays all day long to create a warm glow of light when the sun goes down. It also features a manual on/off switch should you want to reserve your solar power for another time. It uses rechargeable batteries to hold a full day of solar power as well. The beige umbrella has UV inhibitors built into the material to prevent fading. These 24 super bright LED lights will transform your patio into a center for ongoing family and friends gatherings. The 2 piece metal pole is adjustable for heights up to 71 inches tall and the umbrella is 8 feet in diameter. Weight 18 pounds.

Fantastic solar umbrella September 14, 2008

I love this patio umbrella. We keep it open 99% of the time; only close it when there's a bad storm coming through with high winds. The lights are really nice, too. When lit they're a cool (as in the hue) blue color, yet at the same time really soft and non-glaring but bright. What's more is that it's easy to use. Very durable and sturdy, yet not so heavy and clunky that an average sized woman can't maneuver it.

The crank opens and closes the umbrella very easily although it could be better placed about 4" lower on the pole as when the umbrella is completely closed the crank is right at the bottom and you need to adjust your hand/fingers so they don't get pinched.

This umbrella is worth every star of the five I gave it!

i think its the coolest thing it lights up where we are at nite yet doesn't attract the bugs its the greatest birthday present i've ever bought
