Product Description
Drives pests away with sounds they cant stand - in an area up to 3500 square feet! Repel pest animals with psychoacoustic jamming, intense, variable pitch ultrasonic and sonic soundwaves that create a noisy, hostile dynamic sound environment. The noise is intolerable to pests yet friendly to pets and humans. Safe for use indoors and out, and at food establishments, farms, warehouses, homes and more. Weather-resistant metal housing. AC and DC operation.

5 out of 5 stars Bird-X TX-PRO Transonic Pest Repeller   October 23, 2008

I bought a TX-PRO about a year ago (2007.) I'd acquired a little sports car over the summer and had cleaned out a detached garage to accommodate it. Friends and neighbors mentioned the damage that squirrels and mice had done to stored cars and motorcycles over past winters. I sat the unit on a table near an outlet, on the driver's side of the car. It's been running ever since. I change the frequency and volume every now and then. No damage or nests of any kind have been found. The entire garage remains in pristine condition. Pests of all kinds have found other places to live.

I bought second unit a couple of weeks ago (2008.) I'd heard gnawing sounds coming from under a staircase one chilly afternoon. A quick inspection of the nearest outside wall revealed missing pieces of grout between the basement door sill and the foundation - large enough for a field mouse. Initially, I pulled the first TX-PRO from the garage and set it up on the stairs to chase the mouse before making repairs. It worked! I decided to order a second unit as a spare for the garage, but then put it to work full-time in the basement after it arrived.

The TX-PRO is effective. It has no moving parts. It consumes little power. It doesn't bother my beagle, although he certainly can hear it. My first unit has been tested at length, but only at higher volumes in a detached garage. I can't see it being used in a residence at these levels as it is clearly audible and annoying to humans (sort of like a non-stop cicada.) Therefore, I can recommend the TX-PRO for outdoor use right now. We will see how it does indoors at the "quiet" setting this winter.

I am using the TX-Pro in my garden to repel raccoons which eat my watermelons and corn. Seems to work on the racoons but does not repel the squirrels that are eating the blooms off the sunflowers!

This thing WORKS! great... it will send rodents running/packing their bags.. but note this is Very load and disturbing. its good for a weekend house or when/where no one is home, you cant be in the house with it turned on (it also chases humans/you away).. if you have a squirrel or raccoon problem i would recommend you buy this product to get them out and then seal the entry/access points/holes so they don't return.

This item really works! We have an old house with a cellar and a crawlspace under a portion of it. A possum got in the crawl space (that's another story!) and into the cellar. We had also had skunks under the porch adjacent to the crawl space, and no we don't live in the country. We purchased this, plugged it in and the skunks are gone and the possum's relatives have not returned! The only thing that would make it better would be if it could be a little quieter. It isn't loud but not quite quiet enough but it works so we love it!

Problem with this unit is that it can only be operated at one of 3 ranges of the frequencies availabe. Other units throw out all frequencies. Secondly, this unit can only be used far away from the premises because of it's bothersome loud sound. Thirdly, it does not have 'through-the-wire' frequency to penetrate the wiring system like other units do.
I would not recomment this unit to anyone. Matter of fact I would recommend either Ultimate AT or better yet EPC.
