Worth it November 13, 2008 B. Ohear (MI) We have had tree damage and bird carcasses due to cats chasing birds; dead and contaminated plants and vegetables and an unusable lawn due to the amount of feces and urine. Projectiles and mouse traps didn't do the job. This product did. No cat signs! We have had it plugged into an outlet on motion sensor for less than a week. We had it on the highest settings and positioned the product at cat height. I did NOT notice it going off with storms (we get strong windtunnels in our area). The directions state clearly that you have to adjust the settings to find the magic spot for the particular animal, as individual hearing abilities differ. I only gave it four stars because: if you can hear your tv when it goes on and off, you will be able to hear this- it's several decibles louder. I am 28 with no hearing problems. It also makes a short, louder burst of noise when it stops. Worth it? YES.
Pest Repeller That Works October 28, 2008 PDP11 (Hudson, FL) I was skeptical about the claims this product makes, but I have been very happy with the results. I no longer have squirrels jumping on the screens of my lanai. The product works as advertised. I would recommend the "Yard Gard" for rodent repellent.
POOP-BE-GONE! October 27, 2008 Sahar (Queens, NY USA) PROBLEM: Dog poop in my front yard every day for two weeks. SOLUTION: From the day I started using this product, my problem with thoughtless neighbors who were allowing their dog to poop in my front yard COMPLETELY ENDED! This product was worth the investment.
Best $60 ever spent. No more cat problem. September 28, 2008 Happy Dad (Begen County, NJ USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had a problem with a neighbor's cat leaving poop on my lawn. It also was burning the lawn with urine. Two days after I setup this Yard Guard Ultrasonic repeller, I was driving home and some by neighbor's cat running across the road away from my house. I never saw that cat run fast before. I haven't found any poop all week. When I set it for Cats the sound is undetectable to people. It just makes a chirp sound when it shuts off. Great product. No more cat - no more poop - no more headache - nice lawn.
Wayyy too expensive.... Wayyyy too ineffective September 21, 2008 Dean Vincent (Florida's Gulf Coast) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you're looking to keep yard animals (rabbits, squirrels, even rats) away from your flowers and garden...this is only effective if you can plug it in to an AC outlet and leave it plugged in. And since it does not send the sound through walls, it is necessary to place it outdoors and leave it plugged in if you want the signal to be always on... and believe me... you do. It does work on 4 C batteries, but does not allow you to set it so that it is always on. (Even if you could, it would run the batteries down, anyway). So, what you get is a motion detector. If it senses the moving of an animal it will come on. If the animal stops... it will go off. And, don't think that besides it having a limited half-circle range... that the animals don't figure it out. All in all... It just does not work! And at more than $60.00 including shipping... it's not even close to being a good value. P.S. For those of you who are able to plug it in and leave it plugged in outdoors... don't forget to go out and turn it back on and reset it if you have a brown-out. v
