Excellent buy August 13, 2008 The Witz Was a little leary about buying these since some people said that some of the lights did not work right from the start. I could tell every single one was working as soon as I turned them on by holding my hand over the solar panel. They are wonderful quality. Not plastic, but metal and glass and they throw off pretty good light, if you have them in direct sunlight. The light is white, and not the yellow that most solar lights emit. I have a few that get a bit of shade during the day and are not as bright, but overall they work great. Very happy with this purchase and would definitely buy again.
Beautiful Set of Solar Lights August 5, 2008 K. Sohmers (Fishkill, New York) The lights were very easy to put together and set up. I did it all by myself. Just follow the instructions and they will be up and running. I put them on the sides of the driveway. I was surprised the lights starting working that night considering I had set them up in the late afternoon so they didn't get much sunlight time. I've had them for a few weeks now and there are times when a few won't work but that is when the sun did not shine on that particular one during the daytime. All of the lights come on at different times but they all work after dark. If you find a problem with one not working, take it apart, jiggle around the batteries on the off position then turn it back on and see if that works. I think the price was awesome! To get 15 of these gorgeous lights for under $100 is the best price you will find out there. My neighbors even commented on how nice they look.
Parts bent out of shape and missing 2 stems August 3, 2008 R. Samson (SoCal United States) I've bought similar solar powered lights from Westinghouse, but this model was a disappoinment. I only got a chance to install the set after my 30-day return window was over expecting that the quality would be the same as my last Westinghouse set which I also bought from Amazon. A lot of the parts where bent probably due to shipping. But besides that, it was missing two of the stems. As far as the light output, I will have to give an update later on since I have to give it 8 to 12 hours (or maybe more) of charging time to make a final judgment. For $99 this was a big a disappointment. The only pros was that it was made of glass instead of cheap plastic so the lights would be more reflective.
Lights work great August 2, 2008 Rich (Urbandale, IA USA) I was a bit hesitant to purchase based upon some reviews, but decided to go ahead given the low price per light and some encouraging reviews with good suggestions. As mentioned on other reviews, the lamps have power switches that some may not realize without looking, and also come with difficult to see flexible plastic on the solar panels that can make charging a challenge if not removed. I'm glad I purchased the product, and am very impressed so far after 2 months. All lights are working fine and put off good accent lighting around the home for several hours every night. The product seems to be well constructed & durable.
Nice lights June 30, 2008 Phil Dundas (Yucca Valley (casual county) Ca) After reading the reviews on these lights I had some doubts, but ordered anyway. I've had these now for just a little over a month. These lights are well built, all stainless steal outer & real glass globes. When I was assembling lights 1 light had the on off switch turned on & batteries were stone dead, but after a sun charge they all worked fine. I have had several neighbors comment on how good the lights look. I live in the hi desert of Ca & get lots of sunshine here year round. summertime now & sun sets about 8:30 & have seen all lights still going at 2am, havent been up later than that yet, but how long do you expect solar lights to burn? I am very happy with the purchase & would recomend to anyone looking for pathway lights. Update, original purchase May 30-08 Now Sept 11-08. As another reviewer wrote, you will need to replace the original batteries with 2500mah or better soon after buying these lights as I have, but I'm still very happy with the quality & looks of these lights
