4 out of 5 stars The main thing wrong with this unit is the price.   July 3, 2008

I like the unit. I just wouldn't pay over a hundred and thirty dollars for it. I got mine on eBay for eighty five, including S&H. It came NEW with all accessories and in the original box. The User Manual had been updated a year ago. I guess that means the battery may be as old. But the buyer never knows the age of the battery no matter who the seller is because it is not accessible.

Even so, I doubt that I will get enough use for the unit to justify what I paid. For one thing, the battery is not user replaceable. It may only last 5 years if kept fully charged 24/7 (between lite use). I have given it 4-stars because I know the cost of a 5-Watt solar panel, a 20Ah AGM battery, and all the functions and things that come with the Powerpack. And it really is sturdy and very well built. If only they designed it so that (1)the user could replace the battery. . . and (2)be able to attach another larger battery (or larger solar panel)for extended use.

This product looked really new and innovative, so I decided to purchase it. However, this product does not charge laptops well or other pratical items. I returned this pieace of junk and received a full refund.

Xantrex Xpower Powerpack Solar #852-2071
In my review on this product if possible you can make power regulator that takes 110V/AC-240V/AC for international use.

Look if you want to learn to use solar energy don't buy this product. Get a book and use that for starts. This products solar panel is only a 5 wat panel so you get nothing from the sun practically and you will always have to charge from the wall. This product sucks trust me and don't buy it.
