Amorphous solar panels are created by spraying silicon on to glass in very thin layers, and are commonly known as thin film solar panels. This process allows them to be better at generating electricity in all lighting conditions, including cloudy or shady environments. Sunforce amorphous solar panels are weatherproof and suitable for outdoor use. They have a maximum operating temperature range of -40 to 176-degrees Fahrenheit, require virtually no maintenance, and are also effective on cloudy days.
Solar cells convert sunlight into an electric current; they do not actually store power.  Solid built panel, but glass is fragile during shipping August 31, 2010

I'm using this 5W panel to replace a weaker 2W panel on our electric fence energizer at the ranch. It made a huge difference, keeping the animals safe from predators longer without having to manually recharge the battery. The first one arrived with a crack in the corner, apparently due to shipping damage, and when I reported this, a new replacement was shipped out the next day. So check the glass up-close when you receive it. Overall though it feels like a high quality product.

This solar charger worked great when we were camping without electric hookup. It was just enough of a trickle to the coach battery to keep the 12 volt lights and refrigerator running without running the battery down. Easy to store and quick to set up. Would recommend it for anyone needing a trickle charge on their battery. I connected it to the side mirrors of the motorhome so I could angle it to the sun through the day.

I bought this solar charger for my car that I do not use as a daily driver. I hooked it up to the battery and within 2 days it drained the battery to almost dead. I thought...this may have nothing to do with this solar charger, so I tried it on my Jeep Wrangler battery and it drained all of the juice from it's battery in a few days also. Worthless product....ripoff.

I use this solar charger on my bass boat, it keeps my trolling motor battaries charged. Needs to have a led light to indicate charge working. the last one i had blow out of the boat but i didnt anchor it down.
