5 out of 5 stars Great little lights!   September 9, 2008

I ordered these lights from Amazon last week and installed them today replacing my old incandesent units. Installation was easy. Didn't have to do any rewiring and the units clip right into the lines. I am amazed at the clear, white beams they admit and the amount of light produced from only one watt of power. These units are floods and not spots and deliver solid coverage of about 6 feet width from a distance of 3 feet from the unit. The units have a sturdy feel and should last a long time. Sould have replaced my old lights years ago - but wait - years ago they didn't have these snappy little LEDs. In a few years I'm sure all lights in every home and business will be misely little LEDs, then the power company will have another excuse to raise our rates!

5 out of 5 stars Great   August 1, 2008

The light is brighter than I expected. It is a brilliant white color, which you should be aware of if you are using it along with the traditional cool white (yellower) lights.

5 out of 5 stars Very bright for LEDs   April 29, 2008

These lights were installed at the entrance to our neighborhood to illuminate the signs. They are powered from a solar array and charge controller/lighting controller. We are very pleased with the amount of light, color of the light (warmer than many LEDs), and the very low power consumption.
They have a very wide angle of illumination and are very consistent in intensity across the field. The case does not get hot, looks great, and is of high quality. The amount of light is much more than most LED lights, but still less than many incandescent lights. It appears to be a bit less than a ten watt light. Still, given the power requirements, it is extremely satisfactory.
Only had one problem, the reflectors in both lights were not centered over the LED, causing a cutoff/shading problem. I unscrewed the lights, centered the reflectors, reassembled them, and now they are fine.
Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Decent Lights   April 5, 2008

I purchased a set of these lights not really sure what to expect. I truly had low expectations for them and I thought that I would be returning them within a week. I was concerned that they would be too weak in light intensity, too white in LED color, and poorly made. I can honestly say that thankfully I was wrong and I am actually quite impressed.

The LED color appears to be a clean natural white, not too tech looking, but it does contrast against traditional halogen and incandescent spotlights. At first I didn't care for the color difference of these lights, but now I actually like the color of the LED spotlights better than the traditional incandescent or halogen units. The lights are mixed in with our incandescent pathway lights and we use these LED spotlights to accent some of the plants and the walls along the house. They also put out a decent amount of light. I would say that the description Amazon has about the lights putting out about an equivalent of a ten watt traditional spotlight is relatively close.

The quality is also somewhat of a surprise. They are metal and quite attractive looking for spotlights. The small size of the fixtures is an added bonus, as they are not noticeable during the day and we have them located on the pathway to our front door where anything would be extremely conspicuous.

I gave the rating of four stars because when the lights first arrived the internal reflectors were not lined up with the LED correctly. It was a simple fix to take off the lens and align the reflector hole with the LED, but as a first impression on quality, it was not a good one.

Overall worth the $45 and I am looking to buy more.
