BEWARE ! No batteries included May 30, 2008

Beware ! Batteries are NOT included, although the packaging in which the lamp is shipped clearly states, "INCLUDES 3 X 1.5V AA' BATTERIES."
I confess to being suspicious because because the shipping weight listed in the catalog is only 5 oz (3 'AA' batteries weigh about 3 oz.), so I was not surprised.
Also, the + and - ends in the battery compartment of the lamp are not clearly marked.
HOWEVER, it is light-weight and bright, and is exactly what I need for traveling.
