5 out of 5 stars Use low self-discharge rechargeables   August 17, 2010
SPB-RU (CA USA)
I use these four AAA Pre-Charged Duracells in my Dish TV remote control. They last for many months and when they die, I just recharge them overnight using Sanyo charger that came with Eneloops I bought at Costco.

I use Duracell, Eneloop, and Rayovac 4.0 AAA and AA batteries in almost everything in my house: remote controls, camera, central A/C thermostat, children toys, spot lights. It really works for my family. I do not run out of batteries, and I do feel guilt since I no longer throw used alkaline batteries into garbage.

Definitely recommend.

4 out of 5 stars These are NOT the white top LSD ones   August 5, 2010

These batteries come in two main types, black and white tops. White tops are grey market made in Japan and supposedly rebadged Eneloops. They have the best low self discharge and are of good quality. Black tops are made in China and are found to be lesser quality. The ones I received here are black tops. That's why 4 stars instead of 5. I hope they last. Still not bad for the price.

1 out of 5 stars Loses charge quickly   August 5, 2010

I bought 3 packs of these (each from a different store) for use on Wii remotes. They don't hold a charge any more, and I only used them a few times each. They worked great the first time, then I noticed that each time I recharged them they would lose their charge faster and faster. I even used the discharge function on my charger, but that didn't help. In some cases, they only worked for MINUTES! I've used Sony rechargeable batteries on my Wii controllers before, and they last for HOURS. I would not recommend this product under any circumstance (unless you don't plan on recharging them).

They pictures in the listing show the difference between the Made in Japan and Made in China. Some of the reviews claim that they received made in japan batteries, but I have received the chinese ones. Feel cheated.
