Product Description The XPower Powerpack Solar is the first portable power pack that incorporates solar power in a compact, portable power source. It s completely self-renewing, which means the detachable 5-watt solar panel has the ability to recharge the power pack s 10 amp-hour battery. The 5-watt solar panel captures, stores and converts the sun s renewable energy, replenishes the XPower Powerpack Solar s battery, and extends the runtime of many devices by up to 25 percent. Runs 120-volt AC or 12-volt DC products anywhere. Built-in 400-watt inverter. Two 120-volt AC outlets, one 12-volt DC socket and one USB port. Three-digit display for easy battery status monitoring. AC charger included so you can charge from a standard wall outlet.

Useful August 22, 2008 This Xantrex powerpack is quite useful and well worth the cost. However, prospective buyers should compare their needs with the manufacturers specs. One should also consider that these specs are bound to deteriorate as the battery is used and as it ages.
I really like the lights on this unit, the USB charger, the on-board solar panel, easy portability, user replaceable battery, and solid attractive construction.
I do wish that I could plug-in one of my 13Amp solar panels to charge the battery quicker than the supplied 5Amp panel (like I can do with my Xantrex 400R). But this is actually a scientific limitation. If I did plug-in my 13Amp solar panel it would cause the battery to overheat and would overload the unit. This could even be dangerous.
Anyway, Xantrex manufactures many similar high quality products. Take your pick based on your needs, on customer reviews, and manufacturer specs. Clear thinking, in advance of purchase, will most likely lead to satisfaction.
So Far So Good July 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was skeptical, but after two camping trips and a power outage using the Xantrex Xpower Powerpack I am pleasantly surprised. It did not take as long to charge as other reviewers indicated, and had no problems using AC, Solar or DC(car) methods of recharging. I operated everything from inflatable bed pumps to portable DVD players and tent fans, and even re-charged two phones and a DVD player after a night of use. If you are a camper and are not expecting to be able to power your home appliances on road trips you might just be as satisfied as I am. I can not speak to how the battery lasts over time as I've only had it two months but as I said so far so good
Dose that i got it to do July 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
OK guys come on think before you buy. I go camping a lot and I use it to charge my IPhone, portable speakers, and power LCD light rope it works grate yeah it will charge laptop as well but not if your not going to use it for multiple things. Buy 2 like I did
You'd have to pay me to keep it! June 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product looked really new and innovative, so I decided to purchase it. However, this product does not charge laptops well or other pratical items. I returned this pieace of junk and received a full refund.
Save your money and the hassle at the post office!
power regulator(110V-240V) June 13, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Xantrex Xpower Powerpack Solar #852-2071 In my review on this product if possible you can make power regulator that takes 110V/AC-240V/AC for international use.
