It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s important to note that the average Hohm Score here in the U.S. is a failing grade,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Troy Batterberry, product unit manager of Microsoft Hohm. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Fortunately, by making some simple changes to your household, consumers can easily achieve a passing mark, and save an estimated tens of billions of dollars each and every year.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Hohm Scores are calculated by comparing a home\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s actual and potential energy efficiency, and is grounded with advanced analytics licensed from Lawrence Berkeley National Labs and statistical data from the Department of Energy. In addition to individual scores, Hohm Scores are available by ZIP code, city and state so anyone can compare a home\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s score with others around the country.<br \/>\n<!--adsense#300--><\/p>\n<p>The national average Hohm Score comes in at 61, with Hawaii topping the list as having the highest average Hohm Score and with Texas coming in last.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Highest average Hohm Score<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tHawaii \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 81<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tDelaware \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 70<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tMaryland \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 70<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tDistrict of Columbia \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 68<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\tNew Jersey \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 67<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lowest average Hohm Score<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\t47. Arkansas \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 53<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\t48. Oklahoma \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 52<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\t49. Nevada \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 51<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2\t50.
