But according to a report by industry newsletter Thin Film Today, the Hanoi government in May entered an agreement with Schneider Electric Vietnam to build a solar power station in Quang Binh, in the north of the country. The station will use concentrated photovoltaic to provide electric power.<br \/>\n<!--adsense#300--><br \/>\nThe project was described as \u00e2\u20ac\u0153non-profit\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and it \u00e2\u20ac\u0153aims to minimize the negative effect on the environment and promote the use of green, clean, sustainable energy.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>It is a small-scale project with a 11kW capacity that will benefit 35 households. But it is part of a national drive to power those excluded by the grid.<\/p>\n<p>The Qaung Bihn project eventually will be compatible and connectable to the regular grid. It is part of the suggestively named Bip-Bop (Business, Innovation &#038; People at the Base Of the Pyramid) program, a community-based scheme to bring sustainable electricity to rural areas across the globe.
