It also became more affordable, the report says.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Over the past year more than 100,000 households have made a significant personal investment to take individual action on climate change and protect themselves against rising electricity prices,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Matthew Warren, Clean Energy Australia CEO.<\/p>\n<p>The organization expects that over 55,000 jobs will be created in the renewable energy sector by 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Facts and figures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2010 8.67 per cent of Australia\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s electricity came from renewable sources, or 21,751 gigawatt hours. A total of 209 megawatts of large scale clean energy projects were added to the grid between January and October 2010.
