Micro wind to energy.  Nothing spins.  It just vibrates up and down.  And it is cheap at the micro level.  I wonder how well this would size up.  <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>And there have been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.energyrefuge.com\/blog\/wind-power-it-kills-birds-and\/\">concerns <\/a>about birds being hurt by giant windmills.  It would be much harder for them to be hurt by a vibrating belt.<\/p>\n<p>This young kid, Shawn Frayne, won the 2007 Breakthrough Award from Popular Mechanics.  I hope we see these in production everywhere and see this as a better way to generate electricity.
