The weeklong course will take place between August 15-19 at the AT&T Executive Education Conference Center at The University of Texas at Austin.

Webber says the course will provide participants with an inside look at the underlying principles and emerging business opportunities in the energy sector. They are aimed at a broad spectrum of the public: engineers, regulators, analysts, policymakers, attorneys, planners, entrepreneurs, and investors, and anyone whose job deals with energy, either directly or indirectly.

The alternative energy course will be divided into two parts. The first part will provide a broad background in fundamental energy concepts. The second part will provide a detailed teaching on the smart grid along with clean energy entrepreneurship and commercialization. The lectures and case studies will be presented by staff members from the three organizations, as well as industry experts.

The first 2.5 days, titled Energy Technology and Policy, are essentially a condensed version of Webber’s semester-long graduate class on energy (videos of sample lectures). It covers a wide array of topics, including Energy Basics and Fundamentals, Fossil Fuels (conventional and unconventional), Nuclear power, Renewables, Electricity Sector, Energy Storage, Utility of the Future, Energy and Water, Energy and Food, to name but a few.

The second two days, titled Commercializing Energy Innovations, will cover entrepreneurship, commercialization, and business development in the clean energy and smart grid sectors. That portion of the course will be taught by the Pecan Street Project, Austin Technology Incubator, and other guest lecturers.

Students can enroll for either or both of the course segments. The first segment costs $375, while the second segment costs $200. A package of both segments costs $495.

For more information and to register go here.

You should follow us here.

Related Posts:

No Related Posts Found!
