Meet Michael Reynolds, an eco-warrior who for thirty years now has been developing what he calls &#8216;Earthship Biotecture&#8217; by building self-sufficient, off-the-grid communities where design and function converge in eco-harmony. Beer cans, car tires, water bottles. Everything can be used in Reynolds&#8217; sustainable vision.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, there&#8217;s always government officials getting in the way. As these experimental structures defy state standards they create conflict between Reynolds and the authorities.
