Via Recharge News<\/figcaption><\/figure>OriginOil, a company working to develop biofuel from algae and which we have written about before<\/a>, has been named by Forbes\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 investment educator Jason Burack as one of 11 next-generation commodity names to watch out for.

Burack told Kate Stalter in an interview that people should add some advanced biofuels companies to their watch list and listed Amyris, Ceres, Sapphire Energy, Solazyme and OriginOil as examples. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153These types of companies have very big investors stocking them\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, he said.<\/p>\n

Burack is one of the founders of Wall Street for Main Street and he was discussing how these companies are currently undervalued despite \u00e2\u20ac\u0153improving fundamentals\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. He said that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153some of these companies just continue to get more undervalued \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6.the fundamentals have actually improved in the last six to eight months. More good news has come out\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6.More positive things have come out with some of these resource companies, and they have expanded the resources greatly, and the stock price has gone down.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

More specifically on algae, Burack commented: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Algae are just something that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s very important. Most people don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t realize this, but all petroleum really is\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthe majority of petroleum\u00e2\u20ac\u201dis fossilized algae…..They can grow algae and have it mature in only a few days, and they can turn it into oil and turn it into bioplastics without fossilizing it\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6What took Mother Nature millions of years, they can do in the lab in a few days.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

OriginOil CEO Roggs Eckelberry was more than happy with the mention and said:
\n“We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re rapidly cementing our unique role in next-generation algae harvesting. As a result, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re being highlighted here with much larger companies that have famous backers like Warren Buffett, Vinod Khosla and Bill Gates. As our technology develops we can expect to see more corporations and investors take note of our position in the market.”<\/p>\n
