{"id":5589,"date":"2011-10-21T10:36:50","date_gmt":"2011-10-21T14:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.energyrefuge.com\/blog\/?p=5589"},"modified":"2017-09-05T17:46:34","modified_gmt":"2017-09-05T21:46:34","slug":"cellulosic-ethanol-expected-to-surge-in-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.energyrefuge.com\/blog\/cellulosic-ethanol-expected-to-surge-in-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Cellulosic Ethanol Expected to Surge in 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.energyrefuge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/POETProjectLibertySlideshow.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.energyrefuge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/POETProjectLibertySlideshow.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"POETProjectLibertySlideshow\" width=\"180\" height=\"120\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5590\" \/><\/a>The first commercial <a href=\"http:\/\/www.energyrefuge.com\/archives\/cellulosic-ethanol.htm\" target=\"_blank\">cellulosic ethanol<\/a> (ethanol made from non-edible parts of plants, grass, crop waste etc) will start production in 2013, and it will \u00e2\u20ac\u0153open the floodgates\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for this type of fuel, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/2011-10-17\/cellulosic-ethanol-floodgates-may-open-in-2013-poet-llc-says.html \" target=\"_blank\">said Bloomberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>POET, a biofuel producer building a plant in Iowa that will produce 25 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol per year, recently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.energyrefuge.com\/blog\/cellulosic-ethanol-plant-gets-loan-guarantee-from-doe\/Department of Energy \" target=\"_blank\">secured a $105 million loan guarantee<\/a> from the US Department of Energy and hopes the plant will come online in 2013.
