{"id":613,"date":"2008-06-13T23:05:31","date_gmt":"2008-06-13T23:05:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.energyrefuge.com\/blog\/how-4gallon-is-changing-things\/"},"modified":"2017-09-05T17:54:21","modified_gmt":"2017-09-05T21:54:21","slug":"how-4gallon-is-changing-things","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.energyrefuge.com\/blog\/how-4gallon-is-changing-things\/","title":{"rendered":"How $4\/Gallon is changing things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is what I have noticed in the past week as gas as hit the $4 mark.<\/p>\n<p>I see more guys in business clothes on scooters with a funky helmet.<br \/>\nI see more parents with their kids walking to the store.<br \/>\nI see more cars with their windows down even in the 90 degree heat.<br \/>\nI see more cars driving the speed limit and fewer zipping by.<\/p>\n<p>What will $5\/Gallon cause?<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Will it be cheaper for people to share hotel rooms than go back to their exurb homes during the work week?<br \/>\nWill it make more sense to work four 10 hour days than five 8 hour days?<br \/>\nWill there actually be more carpooling?<br \/>\nWill people work from home 1 day per week?<br \/>\nWill we stop working crazy hours because we have to catch the next bus?<br \/>\nWill bike\/scooter safety and accidents become the lead-in gruesome news stories on the local news?<br \/>\nWill new construction actually become designed to be walker friendly?<br \/>\nWill people actually demand better and more public transportation?<\/p>\n<p>I find the last item most intriguing because whenever I hear people on talk radio complain about gasoline prices, not once do I hear someone say, &#8220;And what we need are more busses so I don&#8217;t have to take my car.&#8221; Let&#8217;s use less AND create ways to generate more.<\/p>\n<p><!--adsense--><\/p>\n<h3 class='related_post_title'>Related Posts:<\/h3><ul class='related_post'><li>No Related Posts Found!
