Designers Ryan Lynch and Marcus Triest are creating the Solar Bag which uses a method known as solar water disinfection to purify the stuff that is so rare in some parts of the world.

\nThe designers say their Solar Bag can process 2.5 gallons of water for every six hours of sunlight. The purification process starts during transportation. <\/p>\n

Yes, it the sun\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s UV rays that cleans the water, but what the Solar Bag does is to speed up the process by maximizing their potential and reflecting the rays back and forth between the materials of the bag. With a \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcziploc\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 seal, the bag can be laid flat on the ground to increase the surface area of the sun to water.<\/p>\n

It could be a matter of life and death in drought-ridden parts of the world and, best of all, its estimated cost is only US$5.<\/p>\n
