Nuclear power, solar power

Britain recently announced its support for the construction of new nuclear powers in the country, a move that has led to speculations of a renaissance of nuclear energy. And again, worries about security and the ghost of Chernobyl loom over nuclear power like an apocalyptic nightmare. We grew up with the fear of an atomic war and the mere mention of the word ‘nuclear’ is enough to send shivers up our collective spines. It would be better if we didn’t resort to this type of energy generation.

Fortunately, research on solar power is constantly evolving. The USA Today ran an article about a new technology being tested by Stirling Energy, an ambitious company that is pushing the envelope in the solar power sector, and which sounds very promising. One to watch out for.

I respectfully disagree. Nuclear Power and Atomic War are in no way related. Nuclear Power offers the quickest, cheapest, safest and most effective solution to our current desire to curb greenhouse gas emisions while protecting our energy security. In the coming years, we will see electrical demand soar as we begin using plug hybrids and electric cars. Nuclear Power will be needed to fuel this transportation revolution. I have no fear what so ever of the current generation of Nuclear Power Plants. The next generation of Nuclear Power Plants are designed even better, using pellet sizes that make any form of melt-down a violation of the laws of physics. Furthermore, waste can be regenerated into usable fuel for other power plants. A simple fact remains that, in the Western World, nobody has eveer been harmed by Nuclear Power in any way, shape, or form.
